There is no doubt that hip hop and fashion are closely linked. Many rappers use fashion to define their lifestyle and image, or they design clothes themselves.

Rapper Diddy for instance created his fashion label Sean John in 1999, starting with a men’s sportswear collection. In 2004, he was named Men’s Wear Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Today, it is known as one of the most impressive lifestyle brands, serving fashion markets in the US and around the world with multiple collections.

This week, at the Kids Fashion Week in New York City, rapper Diddy was involved rather passively. He was sitting in the audience to gaze at the modeling debut of his daughters Chance and her half-siblings Jessie and D-Lila, who walked for Swarovski and Ooh! La, La!.

The three girls left Diddy clearly excited, as he tweeted “Words can’t explain how proud I am. There’s no grater feeling”.

In contrast to his daughters, Diddy was not able to impress, wearing a white shirt with a black pattern that looked like piano keys. But maybe he just wanted to let his daughters shine and let them enjoy being the center of the night for once.
